FITNESS TRAINING

Most other certification courses miss the most important part of training law enforcement fitness instructors, i.e., the practical aspect of learning how to teach, perform exercises, and administer fitness tests to achieve accurate results. The law enforcement profession increasingly uses physical fitness as a performance measure and those instructors should have a place to train that fits those specific needs. The Fit-to-Enforce Fitness Instructor understands fitness assessments and testing, is familiar with exercises commonly used outside and in a weight room, has been exposed to basic nutrition and sports nutrition and has been better prepared than any other certification available for law enforcement instruction.

The Fit-to-Enforce Fitness Instructor Course will:

-       Prepare the instructor to teach fitness in a law enforcement setting.

-       Require the student to know the principles of basic fitness inside a weight room, outside using callisthenic exercises, and in the classroom.

-       Teach the student to replicate a lesson plan.

-       Reduce liability in training by teaching instructors how to recognize and potentially prevent the signs of illness and overuse during training that could lead to preventable injury.

-       Teach the student to identify the surface anatomy of muscles and exercises to develop muscle size, strength and endurance.

-       Require the student to practice leading exercise to a group.

-       Prepare the student to lead training runs using road guards.

-       Give a comprehensive overview of basic and sports nutrition.

-       Teach the variety of ways an instructor can use equipment or daily household items for training.
